but first, more "aphids", tried to get them in the sun which required removing a pod, and then i put it back so they could scamper away or stay. the pod will dry early and release now ^_^

i'm slowly getting the knack of using autofocus to get the roughview; then while holding the shutter button down half way after focus lock is achieved, i can move it around some. this is handheld; but with IS turned on. a tripod and a racking slider wouldn't hurt either :)

<lj-cut text="and there's more of course[/img]

today's stuff starts here. i'm only including a few of my favorites, there's more at the smugmug

autumn olive, they are edible, tart, and make good wine - so i've read. i've tasted too. single seed = fruit. yes, it's not honeysuckle bush; yes, it's just as invasive.

and now we journey into another realm of the small. the texture on this nest is incredible. according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bald-faced_hornet they are not really hornets, but ... well, you go read :> it also sez they abandon the nest. MMM. i hope it's not discovered by the landscaping crew.

When I take the time to focus in on the small creatures, it almost always follows I've found a portion of myself as well. Thank you for the pictures and glimpse through your eyes, Bladite.
