More custom shop suggestions

I sure hope someone reads these. Anyways...

440c blade option, because it's a good steel, Buck will probably harden it to make use of its real potential (440c is used far more often than it is used right), and it's a natural choice for Buck collectors, what with the older 440c 110's. Nostalgia and performance all in one.

SHIELDS for the handle inserts. A well mounted shield looks really nice, but is sadly absent from the 110 and the custom shoppe. At least one shield of some sort to take or pass on, but it would be really cool if we could choose from more than one.

Sawcut-style plastic inserts like the stuff used for 300-series slipjoints. Oh, how I would love to have a nickel-silver 110 made up to look like the 303's traveling partner.

Different colors of G10 for handle inserts (I may have said that one before).

Is it possible to make the liner/bolster out of stainless steel and apply a PVD coating of various sorts to make more bolster color options? Right now it's just two.

Aluminum bolster/liner for a lighter knife. Hmm, we could do annodized aluminum and that would solve the previous item, but I think PVD coatings are more durable.

Here's another suggestion: Carbon steel blade!
Well, there is damascus, though Joe Houser tells me that damascus is on hold right now until Buck can find a better source.

I'd love to see a 1095 steel blade though.

I like your suggestions, especially the shield. When I see a knife with nickel-silver bolsters and stag scales, I expect to see a shield. Something along the lines of the ones used on the 300 series knives, or ?.

There's al kind of good options that could be added. One obvious one is S30V blades, which we know Buck already makes for the Alaskan Guide 110. Other exotic woods -- dessert ironwood, cocobolo, etc. Maybe some super high end options -- mammoth and mastodon ivory scales, damascas blade with a ZDP-189 core. The sky's the limit.

Another consideration would be to add models in addition to the 110. How about the 112 and 501 for starters? Think of a 301 with stag handles and ATS-34 or BG-42 blades.

All good suggestions!

It would be cool they would offer Micarta as a scale option. I also like the sawcut delrin suggestion mentioned above.

These are total wishes... but how about a drop point blade option? or adding the 112 to the list.

The Prince with 1095 or D2 or BG-42 blades and Red, White, and Blue micarta scales:D

I second that .. polished aluminium bolsters + g10 would be super cool ... or carbon fibre + aluminium bolsters s30v blade a buck for the new millenium:p :D Pleas make it happen.
