Hi guys, you all did a fantastic job helping me decide on an EDC so I thought I'd pick your collective brain once again for help on a heavy use/camp/bet my life on knife.

Basically I want a knife that will handle basic camp chores: site clearing, batoning, food prep. I also would probably use it to quarter deer etc when I go hunting. Finally I would like a knife if/when it came down to it I could bet my life on. The caveat is this, I'd like to keep the price under or around $100.
So let me tell you what I have been considering.

Becker:
BK7 or BK9

Ontario Knives:
RTAK or RAT-7 I do have some concerns here having read about tip & edge failure etc.

Scrap Yard:
Yard Mate

(I like the Swamp Rat knives too but they seem to be largely unavailable so I figured no sense considering something I can't obtain)

Hopefully this gives an idea of the style, size, and price I'm shooting for & I look forward to the insite of the folks here.

Seeing the Copper Recommendation thread I see that the Browning Barker/Crowell was also recommended. I'd like to add that to this list.

Does anyone have any suggestion or point me to a thread that answers my question? I realize this is a simular question as some posed recently but it does have some differences.
Thanks in advance.

With most of the choices you have I don't think you'll need to baton at all. I had my seal2000 camping about 2 weekends ago. It limbed out a few pines and spruce just fine. The seal is not nearly as good a chopper as the ones you listed above.

I don't know what you guys do down in VA, but up here we quate deers with folding saws. Cheaper, faster.
