More designs -- pix.

I hate to sound like a spoil sport but if there's any way you fellows can find a way to post your own creations it would be a great help to me.

I guess we basic members will have to pony up the 20-spot for Premium or Gold membership, or beg some of those other Gold and Premium folks for assistance.

I'm as guilty (or more guilty) than anyone. I push all kindsa pix to Uncle, and he has posted a huge majority of them for me, out of the kindness of his heart. Thanks again for that, Uncle. I owe you one.

Thanks!

Keith

Uncle Bill, if I can help in that regard, people can email pictures to be posted to me at sferguson2@triad.rr.com

I'll be glad to post them and save you the trouble.

Most internet accounts include at least a small homepage storage.

Store your picture at that address, then
Just click IMG in the VB code section of the Reply page.
Give the address of your pix and it will load from your site
when needed.

Thanks for offer of help -- much appreciated. As I mentioned to the designer who sent these pix I spend 60+ hours per week just trying to get my own stuff done and don't really have the extra energy to devote to volunteer efforts such as this. It comes with the territory. If I were 50 years younger I wouldn't complain.

I'm also willing to post a few pictures. Please keep them under the 102400 byte size limit imposed by Blade Forum.

I figure it frees Uncle Bill to post more Khukri deals (one of these days I'll be fast enough to get one!)

Ok Guys
I'm the guilty one. I didn't mean to put extra load on Uncle Bill to post those pictures, and I didn't mean to put a "illegal" sale on the forum.
The pictures are made using Rhino 3d. I think it's much easier to use than solid works. Solid work really sucks in assembly.
This Kukri was supposed to be a 15" BAS by Sanu, but I can't get the shiny surface on it yet, and I'm also missing the scrolling and the cho. Hence this is a village model:p

Thanks for the offer to post up pictures guys. I'll take you up on that when the HI quality one comes out.

You got the Sanu handle profile down, Abear. I recogized the "baby grand piano" style grip that Sanu seems to favor right away.

S.

Abear = A few "straight on" renderings are always helpful in seeing the overall size/shape of the knife.

If you like, send a copy of the model to me and I will material render it in 3DS Max.

Hi Dan
I'm just learning 3d studio myself so I haven't figured out how to make the blade shiny yet. Do you know how to do a reay trace?. I'll send you the rhino file to edit. Thanks

Ray Tracing is usually used for shadows/reflections. If you wanted a nice raytrace, you would want to fill up you model with sky, mountains, water, glass, etc. to get a lot of reflections/colors. Otherwise, your raytrace will consist only of a nice crisp shadow (which is better than shadow-mapping, but still only shadows)
