A little over a week ago willgoy contacted me asking for my mailing address, saying he had an old peanut he wanted to give me. I still am amazed at the kindness of the members here!

When I got home yesterday there was a package from Finland in my stack of mail. I opened it to discover this little gem along with a gracious note written on a beautiful post card.

Will told me the bone handles do not match, but that does not trouble me in the least.

It is like having two different knives at which to enjoy looking.

I have sold my other Queen knives, so it is very nice to have one again, I love that crowned Q on the tang stamp!

Thank you so much Will for your remarkably generous spirit, displayed in this kindness to me. My best to you as you return to work!

Alongside its new friend, the Case chestnut bone peanut.

I see that I forgot to wipe the pocket lint off the Queen before taking these pictures. This one went right into carry duty as soon as the package was opened!

Doug, you are so deserving my friend!!! What a terrific knife  I too enjoy the different colors of the covers---more to admire ;)

Willgoy you are very kind indeed and an asset to this "Band of Brothers" and "Sisters" and that is such a great Queen Peanut!!!

What a way to start the day :thumbup::thumbup:

Paul

I Second the  on the covers! The spirit of this forum is amazing!
Well done guys!

Nice knife Doug. Way to go Will, from one top gent to another :)

Exquisite little peanut knife!

Congratulations on the new knife, and a thumbs p to you Will for your generosity that is so typical of this forum and makes it what it is.:thumbup::thumbup:

Personally, I love the non typical bone scales, and agree that it is like having two knives in one. Don't like the dark side? Just flip it over and come to the light side. Or vise versa. I can only hoe that this doesn't lead to a personality disorder.

Carl.

Great looking Queen knife, Doug!

This forum is just a great place to spend time. Thank you for sharing this nice story.

Will, that is a great gesture, my friend :)

Great people here.

What an awesome gesture! Great old bone to add to your stable...

Too cool...I love popping in and seeing stuff like this.

And since you can't really look at both sides at the same time...the bone is nice on each, that's what matters. Curious how this came about though, did it leave the factory like that?

Thanks Doug for the really excellent photos of it! Just wish I could get my head around photography..seems beyond me. The two non matching sides are like the dark side of the moon:D actually, I suspect it may've been in some shop window for ages hence the lighter tone, or just re-handled.

Odd to think it's now back where it was made, the USA, but such is the international nature of this part of the forums, I'm glad it is 'home'

Regards to all of you,

Will

I think you are a Top Bloke Will, and this just goes to prove it, Well done Doug, as Paul has said - you are a most deserving member, and I think the Queen Peanut is one hang of a attractive knife!! in fact I must admit to say that I don't think I have ever seen a Queen Peanut before? awesome!!

Carl.

Some might say that the evidence of a personality disorder is that cigar box filled with pocket knives sitting on my desk. After all, you can only use one at a time, right?

Oh, I realise now why the Queen caught my eye in your other thread, it's that squared bolster. Much nicer in my mind than on the Case.

Lovely stuff and a great gesture Will.

I like that about it too. It has been a good pocket companion today, in a pair of pants that cannot accept abide thick or heavy knives. And when called upon to cut, it slices through with the ease that only a good, sharp blade can provide.

Since the sun emerged from its hiding this afternoon, I thought I would take a few more pictures of Will's generous gift on my favorite stump.

Looks like I failed to adequately clean the pen blade following its most recent use.
