This homemade dirk came from Ebay too. Carbon steel and stag, with no makers mark. It looks like a copy of a Scottish gralloch. Gralloch means to eviscerate an animal. Scottish hunters carried two knives, a short one for skinning, and a long one like this for butchering. I suspect it would come in handy for other things too.

This Swedish knife has a machine made blade of carbon steel, and some of the prettiest arctic birch I've ever seen. Reindeer antler pommel. Handmade I suppose, no markings. Thanks for looking.

Those half wood sheaths just take my breath away. Thanks for posting. Awesome snags.

freakin' beautiful!! I'm gettin' jealous of all these E-bay snags of yours!!:D Incidentally, the pictures are incredible, as usual.

Very nice catches!

Steve, you and Norm, Bill Marsh and others (and I think Spiral did once too) : you add to this place when you share these.

Thanks guys. Thought you'd like them. No secrets to the photography. Well, maybe.
1. Tripod
2. Cloudy day.
3. Background neither too light or too dark.

Man, I have some Puukkos, but nothing like the grain in that particular piece of curly birch. And the sheath! Fantastic. That big Scottish knife is wonderful as well. Would that be classified as a dirk in that size? Great snags Steve. Wish I had your eye with the bargains and the camera as well.

Thanks for sharing.
