Perhaps the tan molded sheaths are not the prettiest on the market. However, they sure are versatile. Last year, my first experiment was piggybacking the RC-3 with the RC-6. Very easy to do with the supplied paracord and clip. However, I tend to like carrying these two independent of one another and the weight of the RC-3 plus the 6 is a little on the heavy side.
More recently I just received a custom little knife from CKE2. This smaller blade came with both a kydex neck sheath and a kydex belt sheath. The kydex belt sheath married almost perfectly with the RC-6 and the two together function like a wonderful piggy back unit. The lighter weight of this knife is very comfortable to wear and neither knife is hard to withdraw. You can probably do the same with the Izula.
Now I have always been fascinated with piggy-back rigs as it embraces my personal philosophy of having both a camp-sized knife and a little utility knife. However, I've always shied away from rigs that supply only a specialized piggyback rig. Sometimes I just like to carry the knives independently. That means having to get two sheaths (not just one) if you want to use them alone. RAT's molded sheaths make piggy backing a simple and non-permanent solution. Simply tying the rigs together with paracord gives you a sheath system that is highly secure while at the same time you can easily undo the rig, whether at home or in the field.
Now I just can't wait for the official RC-drop belt attachment to come out for the RC-6!
For anybody interested in the little custom knife. I posted a review on Monday in W&SS over here:
