I recently purchased a Buck Anniversary knife on the 4 letter auction site. The listing photos included a picture of the tang clearly showing the ANVIL on the second line. The knife I received was not as pictured. The same model but with a 2001 blade and normal tang markings. The second picture is a cutout from the listing.
Gee, whats the point of having a 2002 anniversary knife with a 2001 blade!!!!! It was not an expensive purchase but would it be unreasonable to expect refund or replacement? Or do I just lick my wounds and take it as the normal risk taken when dealing on the Bay?
I have queried the seller and waiting response. I'm just posting this to vent cause I'm irked at the moment. Would any of you other collecters even care about the tang marking in this situation? I'm usually cautious when buying a knife and the photo appears to be a stock/generic photo or the seller indicated he has more than one and will ask if I will be receiving the knife pictured when a specific feature is important, but this listing appeared to be the sellers own photo so I wrongly assumed I was buying the knife in the photo.
