Finally got my sheath. Well worth the wait (to be fair, he had some family health emergencies to attend to)! It is as perfect as i knew it would be. The weight of the entire rig loaded with both knives is negligable. The fit and finish are perfect. The retention is top notch. On my belt, the BK14 handle is at natural hand placement. The BK7 also comes out easily due to rotating the dangler a bit and pushing with my thumb. The firesteel loop is a big long for my steel, but I plan on getting a bigger one anyway. Still works though, since I have shock cord on the firesteel.

There are lots of kydex bend points to put this rig together, but it all looks like it was stamped from a machine. I am happy that I now have a perfect wilderness knife rig. The BK7 may not have the chopping power of the BK9, but we can't have everything in one package. A BK9 rig setup this same way would be good too.

So this is my 2nd and 3rd Godspeed sheaths, and all have been perfect. I considered taking the BK14 sheath off for separate carry, but after wearing it around a bit to test it there is no way I'd do that now. This thing is a work of art. Godspeed is to Kydex what Skystorm is to leather.

PICS!!

That's a great looking setup. I really like the shot from the side - that configuration is very narrow and looks like it would work great in the field. Does the the belt loop, firesteel holder and piggyback sheath all come off if you want to change it up?

Yep. I could take off the 14 and put on an ESEE pouch if I wanted. Everything is modular. But I think this setup is best. Nothing beats the dangler, IMO.

IMO too. The biggest reason I like the dangler is because it hangs low enough to not interfere with the waist straps on my pack(s)...

Really nice sheath, been thinking about the dangler sheath. More Kydex options to consider. Hope Godspeed doesn't have this stuff patented

Why would you say that? Either way, Seeing a design is one thing, recreating it at a Godspeed/Alzwelke level is another thing entirely.

BTW, I was REALLY surprised at the level of retention on the BK14 foldover part. Looking at it, it doesn't appear to have much to grip on. However he does it though, it is VERY secure!

That's a fantastic combo, isn't it? I'd have kept mine, except I sold the 14 and am giving away the 7. I couldn't believe how well it rode on the belt and didn't feel at all like it was there. Now, that's partly testimony to the quality of the belt, too.

Whats more...for awhile there I though he used a prefab back plate on the back, because I wasn't looking close enough. It is actually his kydex. When you can't immediately notice the difference between a metal mounting plate and someones kydex work, that says something.

Senor Tanner~

Thanks for posting this review!!! I'm just now finding it cause I was searching for something else.... I wanna use those pics for the site too if you don't mind. That dangler is my favorite setup.... it seems to reduce the "feeling" that you're even carrying a knife altogether. One thing you can't tell from the pics is even though the bottom bar of the D-ring is straight.... it won't rotate more than 10* towards the rear (on purpose) there's nothing worse than a crappy dangler that flops about while you're walking, running etc. Mines the only one like this.... you can hold the sheath in the air vertically and the dangler doesnt' point down.... all rotation/movement is front to back.

Tanner, your comment about the backing plate put a smile on my face.

Thanks again for reviewing this and the pictures came out great!
