Over the weekend I received some great news from the good doctor at Blackwood Laboratories …one of my long-awaited projects is finally ready to ship :D! Neil was kind enough to send me a couple of excellent photos of his creation and I thought I’d go ahead and share them with you guys (with Mr. Blackwood’s permission).

It’s a variant of his now-discontinued “Small Game” model with a Wharncliffe blade in Stellite and absolutely stunning Ironwood scales. Smallish, but very tasty stuff…

I already own a couple of Neil’s fine blades so I knew that that the workmanship would be first-rate; I just never expected it to look quite this good. I’ll try to post some of my impressions once I’ve had a chance to use it, but I think it’s safe to say that I’ll be pleased. Now I just need to try and patiently wait for the delivery of this knife…it ain’t gonna be easy ;). Thanks, Neil!

Beautiful. Neil is nothing short of an artist. I want so many of his pieces that I'm gonna have to take a second job.

That is a very nice knife, and I NEED to be on Mr. Blackwood's waiting list.....

Thanks guys!! I really appreciate the compliments. Some knives are really fun to make and go together without a hitch. This was one of them.

Now the bad news, Jim go ahead and mention how LONG this one took :grumpy: :footinmou

I've thanked Jim about 50 times for his patience!!

I prefer small knives and this one is really, really nice. I love the Ironwood handle and the wharncliffe blade looks great on this knife. An all around winner.

Keith and Keith,

If I EVER get caught up, I have a wharncliff bladed, Small Hunter model handled knife on the drawing board. The way things look right now, it might be a 2004 model

I am going to have to have one of those made up, neck knife size, in S30V! Love it!
