More information on this axe - Elwell 1947 MOD

Does anyone have any information on elwell 1947 military issue 4 1/2 lb axes and/or know where i could get a catalog of it? Ive searched through google and cant find the relevant one.

Also does anyone know how much this might be worth?

Used to be a nice bar in my town called Elwell's, maybe it was the same family that made your axe. They retired and moved away though so I can't ask them.
