Here is the Silver Eagle...My son in law found her, bought and sent her to me. She was rusted all over so as you can see she had to go for a soak. Although she is well worn there is plenty of hard steel left.
Below the Eagle (in pic 4) is Big Bertha. exactly how I bought her. cracked haft and all. She don't take no prisoners in the wood heap.
Bottom Kellys haft is quite damaged. It had no wedge, was dry and slipped out easily. I was going to replace it until I saw a name on the part that fits inside the eye. Out of respect for that fitter I have refitted the haft, wedged and oiled it.
These old girls aren't flash but sure do feel good in the hand.
