Got mine today, finally--WOW! The quality of the LCC/MA is shockingly close to my Sebenza! Handle--can't get over how nice the carbon fiber and titanium looks together and it's very comfortable in hand. Blade--amazingly sharp and I for one like the blade shape. Opening--like most Microtechs it is stiff at first, but after working a drop or two of tuf-glide into it, the action is perfect. Lockup--I don't think I could make it fail if I wanted to. Probably my favorite feature on the knife though, are the anodized spacers--classy! This is a great knife, especially for only $150!

I could be wrong but, I think this is one of, if not the best factory knife out there. Fit and finsih is incredible. Lock up is amazing. If Micrtech didn't put their name on it, I could believe it was a Lightfoot handmade. If Microtech keeps going in this direction, I could become a huge Microtech fan.

You have a couple of options. Of course, at this stage of the game, it is dependent on who still has any in stock. I ordered my d/a from 1SKS http://www.onestopknifeshop.com Mike and Spark can get them to you pretty quickly (if they have any left.) BTW---CANNOT wait for my d/a!

I plan on waiting until the D/A comes out before getting one although my concern is the pocket clip, it looks flimsy! The cut out's just make it seem weak. I know some people had problems with the clips bending (was it on the UDT's?). Is that also the case with the clips on the LCC's??
Donald.

nowhere fast - I wouldn't worry abou this clip. It is rather strong. Although I didn't mic the thickness of the clip, it does appear to be a little thicker than most clips I have seen.

I have to agree with what I have heard. The LCC is so good that other than snob appeal, I can't imagine why anyone would pay $400 or $500 for a real LCC. The clip, to me at least, seems quite sturdy. I think the LCC should be a lesson to knife nuts in general that more money does not always mean a better knife. Some of the budget touches such as steel liners are probably better than the more expensive titanium liners.

Badpenny,

Thanks for the plug. I do have plain edge beadblast and stonewash in stock with combo available in one day but not currently in stock. Since the LCC is more like a custom than other Microtech products, it seems like most of the demand has been for plain edge as that is what most custom knife buyers prefer. If Microtech had made this knife a year ago before they changed their pricing structure, the LCCs would probably cost almost twice what they are selling for now.

This may cause a slight bit of controversy, but my LCC has tighter tolerances, and over all construction seems more precise then my handmade Lightfoot Magnum.

I used my LCC to whittle points on 12 1 1/2-2" dia. black ash stakes yesterday and after cleaning off the blade I could still shave hair off my arm. MT apparently has the heat treat down for 154 CM.

I knew the minute I saw the LCCs at the Blade Show that they were going to be a hit.

Wait till you get your hands on the LCC DA.

uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh......LCC.....uuuhhh

I would like to get my $.02 in. This is one fine knife! Everything about it yells custom made. I stated this in an earlier post and it still holds true; If this is a sign of things to come from MT ( price AND quality ) then we are in for a treat. The action seems to be a little stiffer than my Elite and I mean this as a good thing. I dislike knives that almost fall open. The quality of this knife really shows when closing. That last little bit is where the liner takes over and just seems to "suck" the blade in. It is like the walk and talk on older pocketknives. Another sign of workmanship is how well the blade centers between the liners. The bronze/brass washers are a nice touch. These allow a slick surface for the blade to rotate on but do not compress or become deformed from the pressure. The pocket clip is strong enough for daily carry, but does seem to make drawing the knife a bit more difficult. Again, my first impression upon seeing this knife was; this is a custom knife! Microtech, keep this up and you will have more customers than you can wave a a a a well wave a LCC at.

What are the differences between the bead blast and the stonewash finishes on the LCC?

Which one is most desirable? Which one looks the best?

This is going to be my next MicroTech purchase. I carry my mini SOCOM in black as my pocket knife. It's great!

You guys are killing me! I was going to wait for the D/A, but I see now that I will have to go ahead and get the M/A as well. I have been looking for a dress knife because most all of mine are "tactical". This looks like a tactical that will also go with my suits. If the quality is half as good as everyone says Microtech wont be able to keep up. I hope Microtech sticks with the current strategy and continues to make excellent knives at these prices. This will be good for everyone. It will probably force other manufacturers in this price range to boost quality if they want to comptete.

Artsig was right on about the SERE 2000. If he is right about this I will have to ask him for knife suggestions from now on

Just a note to add my agreement on the quality, fit and finish of the LCC. It's a remarkable value. The only negative from me is the weight which is a little on the heavy side for this price category but I guess you have to give up something to get the price where it is. I think it's a great buy and should be a big success for Microtech. Take care.
