I searched for this but didn't find a definitive answer....and now that Kershaw took the ball and bat and went home, we may not know for certain, BUT...

Is Kershaw/Kai planning on making more ZT 0777's? The M390 version?

After the last of the 0777M390's leave the factory, you probably won't see anymore of that specific version.

Nobody knows for sure how many of each version that they are making or even if all of theM390's have shipped.

But its probably safe to say that after they ship, there will be NO more made.

I read that about 1000 in total will be or have been made. Might have been more or less, but around 1000.

0777M390 serial #0011 was delivered to me here today, love it :)

I've been researching this very same question and checking the websites of several dealers every few days. It appears sold out, and ZT stated a while back that all production should be complete by September 2013. I suspect it is sold out everywhere, and if not, waiting lists exists (a few dealers have it for around $600). There is no information or indication that ZT intends to make another batch.

It looks like the 0777's availability will be limited to the second-hand market at prices somewhere between $475-$600.

A real shame! I wanted to give ZT another shot with the 0777, :/!

I'm surprised more 0777-M390 are not showing up on dealer websites. Then again, the 0566 showed up overseas a couple of weeks ago! I'm glad I was able to secure one each of 0777-M390 and 0777-M390BLK at MAP pricing.

I saw #632 the other day at a local knife shop, it's the highest serial number I've seen, and probably means most of the ones they plan on making are out there already. Unfortunately they had it priced at 600 dollars. After paying only 380 for my blk, I couldn't justify the 600.

Someone had 649 and 650 in the exchange forum last week. That's the highest I've seen.

I often wonder why companies discontinue products that are clearly in demand. On the other hand, I do realize that it might be more in demand due to the limited run.

KAI should bring this model back in other steels (or different carbon fiber like the popular Lightning Strike) much like Spyderco's PM2 line.

The 777 is probably my favorite production folder right now. My 777 M390 will get primary EDC time.

I know people refuse to believe this no matter how many times I post this but this knife is more of a look what we can do type of knife and I would be shocked if they actually made any money on each one that they sell.

The example I use is the bugatti veyron. Volkswagen looses a couple of million dollars on every one that they sell. They do it to show off what they can do, test the limits of their capabilities, and build cachet.

Zt is the only make maker out there that is constantly pushing themselves and the boundaries of what is possible in a production knife. That's why they have won the last three overall awards at blade.

I was blown away by the ZT-0551... but 'ho-hum' about the 0777 I first fondled at BLADE 2012. The 0561 is a great version of the 0551/0550 with a ball-bearing and flipper. Either knife better suits my needs than the 0777. I am not drawn by it's 'exclusivity'.. What is it that draws folks to any variant of the 0777? The m390 steel is nice, but you can buy a Benchmade 581 Barrage and 755 MPR with it - possibly a 480-1 Shoki, too, if you can find one now - total for less. Mine are keepers!

Prices are dropping.

I think i might be the first one to get one for less than $500 on eBay.

just got it. :-)

I wonder how low they will get? I am guessing about $400.
