More Maxamet discussion: Easier to sharpen than s110v?

I'm saying that I've had an easier time with it not that I have a question about it being easier. The thing is I don't get how this can be since max has more elements we're talking about in the alloy. Maxamet takes fewer strokes per side to get a bur and leaves no huge indicator you made an angle boo boo. In addition I haven't had my whole edge snap off like what's been discussed before. I think Spyderco's heat treating has gotten better in regards to that, but:

Has anyone else found it easier to sharpen AND does anyone know why this might be the case given maxamet is more elements and more of said elements?

Comparing my Manix 2's in Maxamet and S110v, there is a definite difference in ease of sharpening in favor of Maxamet. I've used both SiC stones and diamond. Can't say why that is, but that has been my observation. Likewise the Maxamet seems to feel sharper on my thumb pad than the S110v regardless of whether I do a high or low grit finish. I've sharpened them using the same settings on Edge Pro and KME one right after the other so I'm confident it's not a difference in means/manner of sharpening.

Ones stainless and the others a tool steel.

S110v has double the amount of Cr, and Co. It also has more Vanadium. It also has Mo and Nb which maxamet doesn't.

Maxamet however is very high in cobalt and tungsten

Check out the chart on zknives.

It makes pretty good sense.

As for sharpening we've seen that it's not Likely the heat treatment but the abrasives and technique. Check out big brown bear knives on YouTube he's done lots of testing and sharpening. Aka @DeadboxHero
