Well, I snagged up some more toys today. Here are my newest acquisitions, and a mini-review of each...

Leek Damascus, model 1660DAM. I had one but gave it away. I think this will be a donor blade for a FrankenLeek in the future. The damascus pattern on the one I picked out has a nice contrast of dark and light coloring. It came relatively dull to be honest, but sharpened up quite quickly. I think this was born on JUN 08, but I might be wrong (don't have it with me right now). Price was $75

Shallot, model 1840. Plain-Jane Shallot, probably going to be switched with an all-black Shallot so I have a black blade with stainless handle and a stainless blade with black handle. This one was razor sharp right out of the box, and has the "First Production 1 of 500" lasering on the blade. Born on APR 08. Price was $45.

JYD II w. SG2 blade, model 1725SG2. This dressed-up JYD has a titanium handle and a laminated SG2 / 420 blade. The lamination line is both visible and feel-able; you can feel where the smooth SG2 meets the rougher 420. I bought this as a safe queen, so I haven't had anything to cut with it except paper. It excelled at that. This actually resembles a JYD I (with the steel handle) rather than the JYD II (with the G-10 handle). Born on OCT 07 I think. Price was $140

JYD II Composite, model 1725CB. Nice G-10 scales, ugly pocket clip, and razor sharp blade. The flipper on this one actually takes less effort to open than any other "flipper" knife I own. Mine was born in AUG 08 if memory serves me right. Price was $73.

Pics to come soon, with some side-by-side shots.
Have a splendid tomorrow.

Josh,

I'll bring my modded out JYDII CB tomorrow and show you a couple things you might consider.

Got two new toys arriving tomorrow; a ZT0200 and a BM 610 Rukus with some winewood grips for it also. Don't know if either one will displace the ZT0500 MUDD that currently resides in the pocket!!

Good haul JN! Can't wait to see the pics.:D:thumbup:

Nice additions J:thumbup: Forget keeping the SG2 JYD II in the safe, that blade is awesome! Take it out and use that sucker. Of course that's easy for me to say......I have several:D
