I got around to making a paracord hat band for my Tilley T5 hat. There's 27 feet of cord stashed there:

I got a Cabela's Gore-Tex boonie hat in a thrift store the other day. It has the typical boonie hat loops on the hatband, so I just started winding a 15' length of cord through the loops. The previous owner had cut off the lanyard, so I sewed a gutted paracord lanyard back on, and made an overhand knot for a slide stop. I made a slide by taking 1/8" braided line and made alternating hitches on either side of the lanyard-- like tying square knots with the lanyard captive in the middle. I repeated this several times and melted the ends in. It makes a perfect slide.
