I found these in 2 Pawn Shops in Zephyrhills Fl today:

1st is a Pre-86(?) 315 Yachtsman with what looks to be a phenolic handle.

Next is a Pre 86 124 with a Black Micarta Handle. Anyone have an idea as to the age?

The 315 is next to last version and the most common version of "Barehead" (No Bolsters) issue. There are four likely 'attainable' versions of the 315, this is one of them. There are four others that are much LESS obtainable (limited production) versions. All are Camillus made versions, this one 88 to 98. So its a post-86.

This one is commonly called the Barehead Yachtsman. Bay watch and you get price ideas. One or two on there now.

Nice coupla knives! The 124 looks to have been made between about 1972 and 1982. We added model numbers in 72 and we switched to impregnated birchwook in 82. I dont really have much to help narrow down the date unless you happen to have the Use and Care leaflet that came with it?

Since it's a Camillus made knife, is that why it doesn't have a date code?

None of the Camillus made 300 series have date codes. I've often wondered why we never asked them to add that?

Nice 315.

That rigging knife is one of my "grail" knives.

I had a lovely rigging knife that I picked up in Portugal, but lost it on a flight to London (they bagged it, and I forgot to claim it on arrival).

I had been unable to locate a version as well made as mine until I ran across the 315, and by then Buck was no longer making them.

I haven't been at sea in more than 30 years, but I still miss that knife.

Had one at a pawn shop locally a few months back, but the SOB actually knew what it was worth, and I didn't have the dollars.

Rats.
