After a long time looking I finally scored a Camillus Pony Jack 21 with bonestag handles.

Shown here with an Ulster. Does a peanut look a little better with a long pull maybe?

Vry nice, I think it does look better with a long pull, I was just gifted a sweet little Crafstman baby stockman I think Camilus made with long pulls, I think it even had the factory edge

That's an absolutely beautiful little jack! It would be no problem at all counting that as a member of the cult.:thumbup::thumbup:

Camillus made some great knives, and it was a sad day they went under. And a peanut does indeed look great with a long pull. I wish Case would take a hint.

Carl.

Thanks for the comments. I like the long pull too. Doing some research I see the 1946 catalog shows the handles as Bone Stag, while the 1948 shows "Stagged". I guess stagged could indicate bone or composite, but there are other patters in the 1948 labeled as Bone Stag... This one is stamped with a long line under Camillus so it is not from 1946. Catalogs are never the final say when it comes to accurate information. The old catalogs are really interesting to look at though.

1948 - along with a yellow one

Further research shows the long line stamp is post 1960. So I guess they brought the red bone back in for a run some time after that.

I like the long pull, on that Case XX Select especially. Maybe I'll find funds for one next year.

Super nice, the pony jack I found has a sliver of a blade left. The Ulster looks great also.
