So, I notice the gold from the K55 will wear. The Douk-Douk is not even "painted" as to show the shape better. They're still great, but what if I should want to preserve the engraving or make it pop more? Should I just use some paint? If so, what is the best for these types of steel handles, acrylic? Thank you!

There's supposed to be a trick for making an old steel square legible by putting paint in the stampings and wiping the flat clean. I could never make it work.
As for what kind of paint, I would ask somebody in a paint store, if you still have a paint store, or the clerk in a paint department, or read the cans {bring your magnifying glass).
