Hi:

"Finshed" up a few more.

Fit and finish are not perfect, as with all my past stuff.

Still, I figured some of you guys were wondering how my garden is looking. If you have any comments, let em fly.
Good or bad, ill still be working in the basement making users... hopefully I turn out a perfect one someday.

First, my new EDC in 1075/1080 and Purpleheart.
This one took on some nasty rust during sheath construction, you can see where Ive taken the scotchbrite pad to it.

This one is the same style, but I tried to taper the tang for the first time.
Its not all that clear in the pictures, and honestly I probably need to taper more next time.

Steel is 1075/1080, and the handle is big leaf curly maple. This is the last time ill use this material, its actually a softwood, and it takes on steel particles pretty easy during finishing. Makes it look dirty.

Im going camping this weekend, some of the guys there will be knife guys.
I ground this one out for my brother to test... he has never played with a convexed blade before, and simply does not believe my tales of sharpness.
I put 0 effort into making this one even a little pretty.

Lastly, this one is 1075/1080 with a Nycralon handle.
I had posted a topic in shoptalk asking why I dont see Nycralon handles by makers and why. Still not sure why, but im guessing the difficulty in finishing is a big factor. Anyway, ive put nycralon on a few sofar.... it is a little slippery, but the nylon fibers absorb moisture readily. When they do... it gets real grippy. Looks like an alien curly maple too. All in all pretty neat.
