I suggest a tripod. A cheap one is better than no tripod. And, keep the ISO as low as possible, to reduce or eliminate the high-ISO noise. Lastly, if your camera has Aperture Priority mode, it'll become your friend, at least when taking these type of photos.

ill have to consult the manual for aperture priority, here's some more.

I always use the macro setting for knife pics. You might want to set up a thin white paper screen to shine your light through, and use some daylight fluorescents.

it is totally enclosed. ill have to buy some flourescent lights.

thx for all the advice.

After you get the tripod, then you can use the shutter delay timer feature. Since it will then be a hand-off shot, there will be NO camers shake.

Too bad the scales on that SH don't match the AK. You can send it to me......

Great shots.

You're on your way.

These are much better than the "throw them on the carpet and try to find my camera" technique that I'm using. :D

The second set of pics look much better... they look great:thumbup:

Like others said, get a pretty good tripod and use the self timer to keep from touching camera. I'm a old 645 and 35mm user...had to look in the book just to figure out how to turn the dang Digi Self timer on. I suck at Digi.

I still use reflected window light and my wife's cheap digi for my knife pics....need to build a light box.

Your getting better and better Mark:thumbup:

:DMORIMOTOM, those pix are lookin' good! +1 on lunde's tips, for further refinement, & RL's light tip. :D:thumbup: 0h, BTW... Good lookin' subjects ya got there... :D

Hey, I gotta ask... Did the grips on your BATACLE arrive looking the way they show in the pix, or didja already oil them up? I'm curi:confused:us to know! :D

#27 needed a li'l TLC to get some color... :)
