A while back I sent Chad my thoughts on a minimalist scout carry sheath for trail running with my NMSFNO and an IWB sheath for my Sus Scrofa. Yesterday, the goodies arrived, and Chad's outdone himself again :D

Carefully packed, as always:

Good looking NMSFNO sheath, nice and simple...looking forward to seeing how it handles tomorrow morning's run.

SS sits neatly behind the right hip, draws easily, and the sheath contours around the body just right.

Looking over the NMSFNO sheath, I wish I'd specified a thinner welt up top to allow for a more blended line there, and moved the snaps off the bottom welt onto the straps themselves to allow for the two rows of stitching to sit closer together. Ah well, still looks great :)

You certainly picked the right guy for that job. Chads leather work is impeccable. Looks like a great combo for the NM SFNO, but I don't know about the trail running!!! I might go with this PirtleMade combo!

I ran with the NMSFNO in a Mashed Cat kydex with two tekloks scout-style for a long while, it worked great in terms of not bouncing around and made for a great trail clearing/maintenance tool. Hopefully this will do the same without the annoying kydex scratches.

If it's a user it will get scratched anyway? Great looking sheaths btw

Thanks! Chad does really nice work. Re: scratches I don't know what you do with your users, but I've yet to whale on anything that left ugly, lengthwise scratches along the whole blade way up away from the edge ;)

I'm just saying why do you care if it's a user? Gonna get dirty and scratched up anyways! Be proud of the battle scars

Great pics, thanks for the posts. His work is amazing. I was very impressed by the packaging he did on my WTF. The sheath is so impressive. You can carry a huge blade comfortably thanks to him.

I don't know where you trail run, but if you have to carry a nmsfno you might want to pack some firepower! Seriously, looks great, hope it works for you.

Mr Lecter - thanks so much for the feedback. Always good to hear someone likes what I sent them :)

With regard to the welt and moving the snaps.. this is excellent feedback. I admittedly could have gone a little thinner on the welt and still used the snap and screw. Busse fans being what they are I tend to error on the overbuilt side. I did think about putting the snap on the strap and could have stitched it down but the idea of being able to make new straps later if needed appeals to me. Now the top welt being thinner.. I try to pull in a little character wherever I can and that's a "design element" at no extra cost :) If we do another one I can definitely blend it more to your liking.

Thanks to everyone else as well. RicFlair, glad the WTF is working out for you!

i love it i have some more i will be sending him once hunting season is closer to the end

Congrats on the super nice sheaths! I never liked the Scruffy until now
