Hi, I have found this double bit axe to restore. One toe was wore down pretty good. I tried to fix this axe while taking as little off as possible and it is decent, however the distance from toe to toe is longer than heel to heel. Should I at least make it even? Or stop here? About 3/16" difference.

It looks like the eye is hourglass, but the top of the eye is largest as seen in the photo. Also if you set the axe down on both toes or both heels, the measurement from the table to the start of the eye is not the same.

Good point. It will also take me a few weeks to find a new handle anyway. I will post a pick once its all done. Thanks for the input guys.

Edit: Does anyone know who made this axe? The only markings appears to be the length stamped in it. I was trying to compare to other axe pictures online but did not really see a match just yet.
