So I picked up a roadie for my work pocket knife. Something for cutting lunch and just general stuff that I don't want to use my leatherman for. Rule is no points, so its got no point, perfect. So since I work at height and on water, I did a little tether to my belt loop, just on the off chance my pocket decides to puke it out. So today I go to open a package at the house and as I reach into my pocket I realize that the divot is sitting in the perfect orientation to just open the knife against the tether. might be obvious to everyone else, but tell me a slipjoint with a standard nick that can do that? puts the blade in a nice pinch grip to take care of the envelope, then closed and back in the pocket. I hope I haven't spilled the beans on its secret capability, but I figure for other guys who are on the fence it might be a help. I've only been carrying it for a week, but so far I think its a winner as far as that particular workplace goes. for other uses, I do love my spy-dk, they each fill a role, and the roadie fills its with style.

It is a superb little people-friendly blade and no mistake....Cuts well above it's weight and is never going to raise an eyebrow.

Deja vu...I just read that post elsewhere about 5 seconds ago :)

I wish I could find an excuse to pick up a roadie. It looks like a very capable little knife.

Haven't used that particular model myself, but I too have found that it's the little things that make Spydercos so special.

Fair enough guys, I'd probably carry bigger if I could, but I'm really glad this exists to fill a need I have, rather than having to take something else to the grinder.

For sure! All preference aside, everything that Sal et. al. produce seems to be a winner, with very well-thought-out-design and execution.

Hey Gadgetgeek, a nice edge is a nice edge! I really need to carry something like that from time to time so I don't look like a neanderthal, but my job requires a larger blade with not too many people clutching there purse or gasping. Thankfully Sal hooked us all up!

Maybe a roadie XL?I don't have a length requirement, so one the size of the spy-dk could be good, or even an inch bigger. Wouldn't match a bunch of places for length then, but for those without limits, they might go for it.

Hi Geek,

Thanx much for the kind words. Interesting thought as we do have a drawing for a larger Roadie.

I'm just really happy that someone is looking after the australian market, as well as others that are a bit tough to hit the legal requirements for. I know that these are risky for you guys as you are having to hit a very small, and moving target. Legal, as well as something people want to buy.

I wouldn't say no to something like that either, but I feel like the big flat blade would get heavy. Great for bagels though!
