I apologize for my miserable photography skills, but the pictures should at least give some idea of what I did.

The first is a Becker Necker. I like this knife--decent steel and a bottle opener!--but it came way too thick. As I flat then convex ground it, it also appeared to have been ground on a large wheel. It is now nice and thin, convexed on a KMG rotary platen, and finished on a translucent Arkansas and a CrO loaded strop.

The second is a Cold Steel RSK. I like the steel and trust the HT, but these have a saber grind, making them quite crowbar like. I took the grind all the way up to the spine, simultaneously thinning out the overall blade. I finished it on the KMG and similar to above. On this one I also cut the Kraton handle off and fitted it with a stainless guard and African blackwood handle.

Thanks for looking.

John,

Thanks for posting the pics of some awesome work. How the thinner edge on the Necker work out for you?

Thanks guys.

Thom, Well it cuts just great. But I have yet to test it for durability. OTOH, I use knives to cut, not pry. And it's a bit short to need chopping geometry:)

Those look great, John. Thanks for the pics!

I really like the new look of the Cold Steel knife.

That SRK looks VERY nice. I wish they came with a higher grind from the factory.

Those pictures are really tempting me to buy one to send off to you :D
