More Rumors?? CS Balisong??

So, I just got back from my local Info Dealer(read "Favorite knife shop") and would love someone to verify this. I hear Cold Steel has 1 or 2 Balisongs in the works, with release dates around May. Mind you at this point this is a Wisper of Speculation of a Rumor, so DONT go telling everyone this is "God's Honest Truth"

Can any of you w/ "gonnections" ;) confirm or deny this rumor at this point? Granted CS makes "decent" products, hypes them too much, then sells them for WAY too much, but annother Bali by a large maker is still another Bali to buy.

Anywhere you can point us to, for these pic's? Wonder what Lynn Thompson's idea of a "perfect bali" is.

was because they're illegal in Kalifornia.........the same reason Ernie Emerson won't get into them. I always thought that was one of the reasons Les De Asis eventually ended up in Oregon, because of the knife laws. Lynn might be able to make them in that state but I don't think he can sell them there, with a blade over 2" anyways. I hope it's more than a rumor.........
 
I too would like to see these pics. Anything new in the field will be good even if it's just for competetion.
 
Oooooh, I KNOW Cold Steel is coming out with a bali!!:cool:

I have seen the prototypes, and it is cool, but they put a clip on the handle (don't worry it is removable).

I think they are saying this Summer. Street price supposed to be a little less than Benchmade. We will see.

Neat blade, slight recurve, very nice.

Can't say more or I'll get in trouble ;)

Tony -I'd like to see not just what it looks like, but Lynn's discription of it too. What, with its Ultra Steel TM, ultimate slashing/stabbing power and awsome edge holding! :D
Dont get me wrong, I love Cold Steel, but only if you can get past the hype, and get it for 30-60% off MSRP $.

Dawkind-I'd heard that too about CS/bali's in Cali so meby the're not selling them out of Cali??? :confused:

Mr. Ghen- :D You could always register w/ a new S/N and fill us in :)

I'd love to see more Bali's out there. I'm kind of thinkin that with Cold Steel in the mix, perhaps some of the other big blade companies will see that there is a real market for them. How bout a bali from SOG!?! I've always kind of wondering why PC/Benchmade owned the market... (Other than their exeptional quality) Perhaps thats not realy true but it IS my perception of things.

I do have a Cold Steel and its a nice little knife. This should be very interesting.
