Just finished these up and ready to send them out to a few departments and military units for testing and evaluation.

I cut up quite a lot of stuff yesterday starting angle, tension vs no tension and media kept things pretty interesting.

Things cut so far old army jungle boot, 5/8 braided air line, kevlar reinforced webbing, small gage wire, 1/2" sisal or hemp rope, 550 coard, and .6 kydex.

The sheath system is a trap style who start feeding it in like a normal knife then with slight pressure push towards the rivet's and it falls into place. It draws the same way pull down and out.

Thanks
Spencer

It looks interesting but what is the difference between your and the one I have been carrying for the last couple of years from Benchmade. I have used mine for several years and find it very useful. Mine is used mostly for cutting seatbelts and clothes. It also has a O2 wrench built in which comes in handy also.

They have a newer version.

Well, right off the bat it has a screwdriver, and obviously has the O2 wrench. IIRC these are made with CPM steel as well, so it's probably a more durable tool. On top of that, this looks thicker so it can probably handle tougher materials.

Thanks Spark

Never stated it was better or worse, just another option for people to chose from, if you are happy with your product then don't change a thing.

The stock on the SRT is 3/16" the angle of cutter is about the same as you will find on your product. The chance of bending the SRT is very very little.

I found that the opening on other tools to be a bit inadequate your tool has a opening of aprox 1/2" the SRT has a opening of aprox 3/4" therefore it is able to handle larger diameter objects and more material at any given time.

I also found the other tools to put your digits (1/8" clearance from the opening) very close to what you are cutting which could endanger the rescuer or user the chance of getting hurt plus overall shorter reach. The SRT place's the cutting a full 1" and on a protective thumb rest away from what you may be cutting. That can make a big difference when cutting things under high tension ie static lines, climbing ropes and small gage wire.

Because the cutter is facing down I also found it harder to accurately place the tool on the critical spot I wanted to cut, with the angle of the cutter in relation to the user you can cut in the upward or downward and have full visibility of what it is you are cutting.

The oxygen wrench is over sized

As it has been pointed out it does have a screwdriver/prybar.

I had a parachute rigger from the NAVY contact me about this tool and said he is ready to give it a run for its money, he says he really like what he see's. He works with these tools everyday and has had to throw away the very tool you are talking about?

It has a sturdy kydex sheath set up for many of the current belt/vest carrying systems out there MALICE clip, Tec-lok etc or screwed onto many of the current tactical holster's that are being used in Iraq/Afghanistan

The last thing it is 100% handmade

Just wanted to show the rubberized texture, it came out pretty good testing will tell if its durable or not.

That is great Spencer.
You really put a lot of thought into it.
Thanks for taking the time to explain the uses for your new tool.
I bet it would work great as a gut hook for deer hunting also.
