Here's another one out of the L-6 saw steel. Its got a 4 7/8" blade, ebony with a walrus ivory spacer for a handle, and iron fittings. 9" overall.

Whoah, I LIKE that one Ray! It's got a hint of a few extra curves that really takes it up a notch.

The grind is also great, reminds me of a really nice tanto I saw in Japan many moons ago...

Love that one too Ray! Are those blades more or less diamond shaped in cross-section? With a thin spine? Or is that just a photographic illusion?

Regarless that is a very graceful blade shape. I love that slightest hit of upturn a great deal...not even sure it does upturn...but a great visual to that blade.

Quentin, Yes these blades do have a diamond shaped cross section but the grind I'm doing gives the illusion of an up swept blade but in reality the blade itself has a slight drop point to it. Here's a picture that shows the top of the knife.

Aaron, I did notice a little bit of an Asian look to this knife. Got some more new ideas to work on now.

Dave, I've got quite an affection towards ebony. :D Still have a few more sticks of it left.

Nice Ray! I like the curves and contrasts on this one, makes it stand out nicely.

That blade shows the eye of an artist Ray. Love that geometry a lot.

Can't wait for your next knife/post.
