Here is an excellent tarwar made and marked by old faithful, Kesar. It is 29 inches and weighs about 2.5 pounds. There are only two things I can find wrong with this rig.
1) There are some dings on the blade (see closeup pix of right side -- worst case) and for the life of me I can't figure out how they got there. Maybe 10 dings on the right side of the blade and four or five on the left side. I know they wouldn't ship a blade like this from BirGorkha so the dings had to have been put there somewhere between me and Gelbu -- who, how and why remains a mystery.
2) The scabbard although very well made is too tight. There will be no quick draws until you get the scabbard routed out a little or stretched.
So, you can leave the rig as is or sand out the dings and stretch the scabbard a little and bring the rig up to top standards. Either way you save fifty bucks off the regular price.
