Im putting some things together for a small BOB/PSK for family members and good friends. It will be a good but basic spare set of equipped for a person whit little outdoor experience. So I dont have to take the risk of lending out my good personal knife and other stuff.
Next to a Vic SAK Budget Camper (whit saw but no toothpick and tweezers) I put a Mora in the back. A stainless or a carbon steel one? I have and love both but which one is better for this type of bug-out-back and person? And what are the points of decision for steel type? Or while my beater/pry-bar-knife Glock 78 be a better option?
My first choice goes to the stainless one because It is lower maintenance. But it is very hard to re-sharp it when its getting a bit dull. The carbon is the opposite.
BTW my BOB knifes are a the BK7 and a Vic OHT. (for real hardcore survival I have a Coldsteel Kukri machete)
