Doing Buck 110 testing lately I was very impressed with Buck performance which is result of HT mostly I think (I resharpen all my knives so it may not be Edge 2000 to blame for this outstanding performance).

I wish Buck will start offering more and more steels to us. This is what other companies doing - Spyderco, Kershaw... with clear success. I understand that Buck is way bigger and 500-1000 knives runs does not make sense for him. But it should be just fine for CS. And it is what they doing already - like that G10/Micarta 110.

I just wish you will have all that new CPM S110V, ZDP189, CPM S90V, CPM M4, YXR7... also available and with your heat treatment. Like my test shows that Buck BG-42 outperform slightly ZDP189, now I am start thinking what will ZDP-189 be if it will be heat treated by Buck.

I think on this forum there is small market for 100-500 limited runs with exotic steels. As well it may also has some advertisement value - like car manufacturers benefit from making those F1 racing cars.

Thanks, Vassili.

Just an observation...but good HT is a result of trial & error...Takes a while...and it's a tradeoff between brittleness and softness...

Took me quite a while to find out that Canola oil is the best quencher for tool steel... ;)

olive oil is better looking if pop eye will let her go with you
