Great pix Brandon. What are the 2 blades in the lower left hand corner (about 7 oclock)? I especially like the bottom one. What's the approx blade length? Make a great fish sticker if it's not too long. Ed Curry

ED, those look like an old style 1/4'' thick strider WP. I have 1 without Tiger stripes I could part with E-mail if interested. Chris

What lighting are you using? If its a dig vid cam still, it looks pretty good. Did you add additional lighting or is it just the room lighting? I'd post a couple of pics but my pics come out grainy with out adequate lighting. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys...

Ed : those are one off micro Striders they came from the old style of blade cut-outs; there was usually a lot of waste steel left over so Mick and Duane decided to knife them up. There were probably 15 or 20 made, I think, maybe less. No two were a like and these were the two closest to a match set. Blade length is just over 3.5 inches on both pieces. They are like my hardcore steak knife set. And work well for throwing although these two fit well for a two handed style of knife fight.

Q: Just room lighting for my shots...but they are only really good for web stuff as the Sony 2000 only shoots 72dpi jpegs for stills... It F****n' Fabulous for video butnot really anything for stills which is fine as it was bought for video work. If you want better lighting try a clamp lamp with a 100 watt bulb should do great things for ya make sure you are directly over head unless you want super hard shadows.

Is that a standard WB? how about the finish, was it done in Striderville or did you have that done 3rd party? Are the knives available in that finish?

Q
Sorry Fred !!

The WB looked different from the one you have shown. Is this a standard blade option available? I've purchased 2 Striders this year. Finding that there are other options available out there doesn't help my bank account ??
Are these available or how do you contact them for 'slightly modified', ' shorty's', or special runs made from drops or likewise?

Mick, any help here? thanks guys

Regards,
Q

Sorry Fred !!

Thanks Mac they are really nice blades. From the size they would make great fish brainers. Ed C

Thanks Chris but the knife fund is empty right now. The Visa's almost maxed and the account is low. Maybe down the road. Ed C

Q: The WB is in black oxide... No I dont think they are available anymore... This was my first Strider and is about 6 or 7 years old. It came from Strider in Black Oxide the finish was done else where I think... You would have to ask Mick or Duane. As with any new knife company first knives are a little rough around the edges. By "slightly modified" I mean this; I bought the knife at a gun show from Duane... and it had sharp edges that I asked to have rounded... or more like just fine tuning the knife so it was more finished...the Black Oxide was redone and they sent me my knife. At the time they were doing a short version of the WB. If they are still doing them, you will have to ask M or D....As to the one-offs they are not likely to be made unless you order them in bulk; the reason for this is because of newer technology that allows the Strider boys to get all they can from each sheet of metal thereby lowering the cost to us and making better knives to boot.
