me no likey, Mikey.

Too much going on.

Actually, I like the unusual lines of the blade. Granted, it's not something I would purchase, as I'm more into bowies, fighters and nice hunters, but I definitely like the thought that went into it.

Nice warm materials. Rich textures and styles.

Unmistakably KnifeArt's photography. Well-done.

I love the blades, the handles are too cluttered up for my taste. Form follows function, you know.... ...and I really wouldn't want to use a knife with such a handle to field dress a boar.

Isn't it funny Steven, that's why I like it:D Oh Jim, that Bergh Dagger was shot by Larry also.

If you compare it to the Hudson's(still have them?) the problem is one of "flow", probably the worked damascus spacer in the handle being the standout.

I see handle, blade, sheath. I don't see a unified knife, even though, of course, it will function just fine.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Michel Blum meets Virgil England - I like it.

I'd love to see said Hudson's...

Michael, you’re getting into the Swedish knives in a BIG way.
Andre' one of my favorite Swedish makers along with his father and Mr. Bergh.

Those 2 Hudson's are long gone Steven. Sold to the Sultan. Wish I never sold those Hudson's. For those that wish to see them, check Weyer's Point's of Interest Book's III or IV. Maybe book II ? I don't have the book's here in Florida. At the time, Rob was pushing the envelope with those 9 bar composite's.

Kevin, here's one made by Andre's father Michael. Big mother!

Those are outstanding. The damascus is among the best patterning you'll find anywhere, following perfectly the lines of the blade. The furniture is indeed ornate, and beautifully sculpted. I think the lines flow nicely. Andre has a good feel for harmony and balance in his designs, and he works extremely well with color and texture too. Those are a lot of visual elements to combine effectively, and few do it as well as Andre (in fact, some try, and fail miserably).

I like the understated elegance of a clean, simple blade as much as the next guy. D.E. Henry bowies, for example, give me major wood. But a well made ornate piece like this is also a big visual treat for me.

That post adds nothing to the discussion. At least tell us why you don't like the knives.

Book III page 10 I believe.

Here is an older knife (2004) Andre made for me, although I don't have it anymore. It featured on the cover of Blade March 2007.

It's less ornate but it clearly shows the progress Andre made in the last couple of years. Whether you like his style or not.

Very nice Marcel:thumbup: Here are 2 more of Andre's made in 2004. Still have them:D

You have always had a top, top notch eye for quality, I just cannot understand the personal attraction to these pieces.

One thing I CAN see, though, is that the value is there in spades.

For those of you that don't know, Mike was a purveyor along the lines of Legendary Knives or Knife Art, back when some of you were still collecting basic users(early '90's).

Good seeing you here, Mike, you will add a lot of value to the discussions.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Saw that one this morning, although I don't remember the site that has it...
But, someone was looking over my shoulder at it and she went ga-ga as did I...
For me, while it is kinda busy, it does seem to have a nice flow from one end to the other - I like the way both colors and textures meld into each other, and then into the sheath...

just my .02$ STeven! :D

Which one do you mean?

Mike, I checked KnifeArt but I believe you missed a few on your shopping spree;) That last one by Andre and those two carved ones from Roger ain't shabby either:D
