hey guys how can there be 2 of the same knife marked"0000"?
I have 2 1991/92 federal duck stamp kiives both are identical and both marked 0000 in the same spot. I always thought there could only be one unique knife marked 0000, someone help me i'm confused

As I remember from a post by LT the salesmans samples were stamped "0000"
I of course working with a CRS memory.

I recently bought a 54th anniversary mack tools knife that the seller got off a salesman he knew, also marked 0000. He even refered to it as a salesman's sample.

hi guys delander-- not being a wise guy but what does the cert of auth. have to do with anything? anybody can get one if they want. if you mean from a well known reputable dealer i guess that would carry a little weight. but still why 2 of the same knives.. irv i always thought salesman samples were marked SS and then a number like ss26 or ss14 can somebody really go thru the bother to make a counterfeit knife and sell it for less than $50.00?
i'm really confused now!!!!!

I believe Del was being tongue in cheek about those certificates.

Adding blade etches, numbers on bolsters is not rocket science, and only takes a few minutes. I've seen a lot of knives obviously made as SFOs for U.S. Tobacco being etched to make them 100th anniversary editions. As long as a guy can make a few dollars more....or a copy of a mass printed generic certificate....

Some photosamples were stamped 0000, and not PS0000. Why would there be two? Dunno. Ask the guy you bought them from. How did HE explain it? Who did HE buy them from?
