More traditional, and not

Well, after all the talk about my somewhat claw shaped design I figured I'd go more traditional on the next one. Of course that couldn't last and the housemate convinced me to try out the jade ghost scales that have been sitting around begging for a home.
I'm still sticking with single bevel flat grinds for work I plan to sell. I have yet to get a regular grind done that I thought was even enough to let out of the shop even for free.

Still 1080, 1/8" thick, stainless pin/tube and a white vulcanized rubber spacer which is another first for me. I like the liner, it's a nice extra touch that isn't particularly difficult to do.

I really like the handle shape combined with the thickness or rather lack thereof. looks like a user and with the ability to maneuver it in hand for a different hold with just the one hand. Nicely done!

Yup, very nimble and adjustable in the hand. It's not bulky enough for really tough heavy work, but it isn't a two or three finger handle either. It's definitely a user. Just fooling around when I was initially sharpening it I went to slice a chunk of cardboard, it went through like it was a razor blade.

Thin, light, tough and slices beautifully. :)

Thanks for the positive feed back guys. This was the only set of that handle material I had, but it seems folks really like it. I might have to order more. It isn't bad to work with.

Not a fan of the ghost jade in scales, but I do like it as spacer material :D like the design too. you did a good job! Just a thought, but since those scales are translucent, perhaps you could have a sticker made up of your makers mark, and put underneath them to show through...(using clear epoxy as well of course)

It's not really THAT translucent, but that's a great idea. Next time I get some of it in I'll have to see how blocky I have to make the logo for it to be seen. Something to mess with, that's for sure.
