Well I have again been on the receiving end of the almost unbelievable generosity of people that frequent this sub forum. I have been a member of more forums than I can recall from multiple auto, atv, audio and countless other forums and none of them have the kind of down to earth and just all around trust worthy people that frequent this forum.

Last week I asked Brian or mr_badexample to pick me up a couple of the GEC Pocket Sleeves while he was at the GEC booth last week and mail them to me if it wouldn't be to far out of his way. Of course he was more than happy to do that for me and so today when I get my package with the sleeves out pops 2 knives with my nice new leather sleeves! Totally unexpected and very kind and generous of you Brian. I don't really even remember how we started talking but I know it was through email over a year ago or so then after while Facebook chatting. I've come to consider you a friend and I really enjoy our knife & gun conversations very much! Thank you again and you're good people for sure!

Almost a month or so ago I got an email from jone or Jennifer asking for my shipping address. Well within a few days I get a package in the mail. I open it up and inside is a little Camillus box. I open it up and there is actually two knives in the box. I pull the little Camillus out first and as I'm looking it over and admiring it I start to get this feeling like I had seen this knife before. I didn't think about it to much as I look at knives everyday but that thought or feeling was there. Next I pull out the Boker and instantly it hit me where I had seen these knives before! Around Christmas time she had these knives up for sale and I had emailed her about them but then life coupled with my horrible memory happened and I forgot all about them or emailing her back! I fee horrible about that now but like a typical woman they don't forget anything so when she came across these knives again she felt like I needed to have them! You are a great person Jennifer and every time I look at or carry these two knives I will think about that story. Thank you very much again for your kindness!

These last 4 knives I have gotten from giveaways. I got the three of them from campbellclanman or Duncan and the last one from RetiredGuns or Steve. First three are the ones from Duncan around May of 13' and the 4th is the knife I received last week from Steve. All are very nice and I love the age and patina they show. Thank you both again and I will make sure they get used! :) I will be doing my own giveaway at some point I just haven't decided yet how I want to do it or even what to giveaway. Thank you to everybody that contributes your knowledge, humor and generosity to this sub forum! It really is a great place to visit and thank you to the mods for keeping it that way even though for the most part in this sub forum we pretty much police ourselves. :D

Actually the time for my first giveaway is feeling like it should be right now! :) If you have made it through this lengthy post and would like a chance to win a Wenger Evolution S10, which is kind of a weird one for a Swiss Army knife as it actually has a locking main blade & half stop on main blade, then just post up "I'm in" and maybe a picture of a knife that has some meaning to you and a story as to why. Also lets keep this limited to regulars of the Traditional Sub Forum please.. The knife is out of the package but has never been used or carried. I will post up a winner via random number generator next week. :)

Wonderful stuff  It's hard to imagine there are better folk anywhere than here! :)

Not an entry, but that's a useful-looking knife. I'm sure it'll go to a great home :)

You're right, jk, this is a wonderful joint we hang out in. Please count me in.

A few years ago we had a thread on our most carried knife, and I recounted how I had carried a Gerber Silver Knight for around 14 years before I lost it. Shortly after that I got a PM from a member here asking me a couple questions and for my address. A few days later this showed up. It has become my traditional Christmas gift opening knife. Thanks again, Ed.

I totally agree with you JK. I have meet some grat people in this little corner of the internet. Jone is one of them. Just a genuinely nice person and always a pleasure to chat with! Many thanks to everyone who posts in Traditionals for showing me the way of the slipjoint! I would love a chance at that Evo. I have always been a Vic guy but recently got my first Wenger , a Soldier from Jone , BTW. Here is a pic of the Soldier in all her glory.:D

You always remember your first. :D

Well seeing as it has a clip secondary........ I think I would appreciate being entered! As far as my contribution, I would like to show my favourite giveaway knife. A member on here mentioned (a long time ago) that he had no Slipjoints and then described a knife that I had in my collection I; one that reminded him of a relative, I think it was grandfather. One that I acquired under less than honourable means in my young teenage years, so I thought I would move it forward and give new spirit into a knife that I wasn't appreciating. To my great pleasure he told me that it was as close as he could remember to the knife from long ago. Even though I would appreciate it more today (actually remembering it from a tactile perspective while writing this post) I am very happy that it could bring back to life old memories.

(this one and a kydex sheath giveaway stick out, and that story isn't traditional)

Not an entry but that's a great knife.

I bought one (S-111) last year when I learned Victorinox would cease Wenger knife production this year. The gang should jump on this one as there won't be any more of those made.

You're quite welcome my friend. I also really enjoy our chats. I'm sure if we were not on oposite sides of the country we be talking in person over a pint or six.;)
Not an entry because I already have a well worn copy of the same knife. It's been with me a while now and it shows. I'm sure that pristine example will make someone very happy.

And here is another example of forum generosity from our own sturzi. I won this super sweet vintage Elsener SAK last year.

Great posts and I especially like black mambas post of forum generosity! Somebody earned some karma with that act for sure. :)

I will be ending this on Sunday and mailing out the knife on Monday the 3rd of March so lets get some more entries in here or the few people that have entered are going to have some very good odds in their favor lol. :)

I'm going to consider your post as an entry dpowers311. :)

Not an entry but what a great GAW. Someone will be very happy to receive that knife.
Thanks for all your wonderful contributions here. This is a great place to hang out.

I'm in and thank you. That's a cool-looking knife and I don't have much experience of Wenger.
Here's a knife that Jack Black sent me just for being the first one to say I could fix it.

I think you missed the boat.

But I didn't!! I'm pretty exited to win this giveaway, a great Monday morning treat! Thank you very much for the giveaway, this is the best place on the net without the knife swapping giveaways, but these just reinforce how great it is!! I will post back when I receive it! Now back to bed for a bit!
