I actually much prefer the Urban to the Dragonfly. The Dragonfly is just small enough that the ergos don't work well for me. Cutting something like cardboard I have to really concentrate on holding the knife steady, rather than just making the cut. The Urban is just enough bigger and broader in the handle that it works well for me even when cutting fairly tough media.I wonder whether there is a feasible demand for more steel options in these markets that require a non-locking small blade. For everyone else, there's the Dfly2, no?
I see, I've never held an urban I just assumed it was as small as the dragonfly. Also I would never use a Dragonfly for cardboard, I actually am very gentle to mine because I like keeping it razor sharp for tape, threads, etc. I usually pair it with something heftier like a PM2 or Manix if I'm doing work. Delica if I'm just on personal time.I actually much prefer the Urban to the Dragonfly. The Dragonfly is just small enough that the ergos don't work well for me. I highly recommend one! It's just enough bigger than the Dragonfly the it accommodates a full 4-finger grip even for me (XXL gloves), but it's still a nice, lightweight, nonthreatening little blade.I see, I've never held an urban I just assumed it was as small as the dragonfly. They don't even exist and are already on my must buy list. Thanks. The Urban with its 2.6" blade is just about right for a pocket knife. I can actually grip it very well, even with my XXL glove hands.
The ULW has been made with other steels in the past, including Elmax. Unfortunately, this was a special run for some organization or forum (I have forgotten which). I would love to see Vanax (better than LC200N?) and Elmax, plus a host of other steels in Sprints and exclusives that I can actually buy. Maxamet would be cool, as well.
The Elmax was made for British Blades. Picked one up to replace my K390 for carrying in wet and saltwater environments. The Urban with its 2.6" blade is just about right for a pocket knife. I can actually grip it very well, even with my XXL glove hands.
