I am looking for a more practical replacement for my Recon Scout. I would like a thinner, lighter blade, little to no guard, similar blade style, length, and price range. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kevin

Have you considered a ScrapYard Dog Father Combat Grade, Dog father Limited Edition or a Scrapper 6 all would make a good very practical replacement choice for the Recon Scout

Ontario RAT 7.. Busse Satin Jack Tac, Busse Hell Razor, swamp rat camp tramp.

I'll add the Ka-Bar Short Heavy Bowie. The handle on it is quite large and keeps your hand from slipping up, but doesn't get in the way of things like the guard on the CS bowies. Not pretty, but fairly comfortable.
Thinner stock, same full height grind, same blade style, lighter weight, good carbon steel, lower price. Only thing I don't like about my long Heavy Bowie is the sheath. It is absolute trash.

There's a nice bowie in the maker section of Blade forums now.
Good price for a custom.
I'd snag it myself but just bought a new custom bowie the same size.

Bark River Rogue might be what you want.
Nice production bowie,no guard,convex edge.
