It was Apple Day in Birmingham yesterday, a faily low-key event at Blakesley Hall.
Blakesley Hall was built in 1590 By Richard Smallbrook. The kitchen extension at the rear was built about a century later but contains timbers dendro-dated to the 13th century.
This pic shows the cross-wing, the main part of the building, including the Great Hall, is mostly out of sight behind.
Morris dancers, with the 17th century barn behind.
Admit it, this is what the desire for independence was all about! Who would want to be associated with this sort of lunacy?
