That's about the only Morse I remember, ghost. Of course, good sailor that I was, I mastered swearwords first!

There's always Solitaire encryption - it relies on giving each party an identically stacked deck of cards.

If anybody's interested I can post the algorithm. Doing it by hand is slow but very secure - and if you are captured you can destroy the key just by shuffling the deck

Key (used to stack the decks): COMSTOCK

Ciphertext: TIGBH VHCCK ZMSFC LIDHZ

Hi Dan:

Where have you been? I don't know what Morse has to do with khukuris but you never know!

Uncle Bill

Jeff, I would be very interested in the algorithm for Solitare encryption. Please post or email me the algorithm.

It's on the web somewhere... I will look for it later today. Bruce Schneier invented it and he has all the info so I will just post a link to his web page.

Thanks Paul. Thanks Jeff. I probably shouldn't be surprised anymore but I really hadn't expected this many forumites to be interested in cryptography. We have khukuris and encryption, I'll bet Dorthy Denning wouldn't be happy.

Looks like we have another one, Rusty. When Cobalt gets back we are really going to have fun!

More medication!

I decided that it would not be a good use of my time to refresh my Morse. I have a dish and can send compressed VOX in a burst transmision.
