I received this knife from a deceased relative but know little about it. It is a Morseth Brusletto Geilo with leather sheath. I would like to know a bit more regarding rough date of manufacture, original cost and what this may be worth today.

The Bowie style blade has never been sharpened that I can tell, but still has a fine edge with very small (1/8") bevel on both sides. it has no rust, however the right side shows some aging and looks as though it had only been used for cleaning fingernails! It also has the red "locking" mechanism inside the sheath. The blade shows original tooling marks. OAL is 10-1/2". Carved stag handle. Brass screw in base of handle for tang.

I appreciate any info anyone may have regarding this knife.

I have pix, just need to figure out how to post them here. Or email me if you want to see them and I will send them to you.

jayselle if it is a pre russell morseth it has considerable value. even the russell madels are worth quite a bit.--dennis
