Mosaic Damascus, Mokume and Mammoth with a Hint of the Orient

Recently picked this one up. Price was right but I do not recognize either of the marks on this knife. Interesting construction. Anybody have an idea who made this? I have posted this on Bernard Levine's forum as well but have not had any luck yet. Thought I would try over here. I appreciate all help and comments.

The mark on the right-hand side of a handle is the Chinese Japanese Characters.
It can be read as "little flower".
