I’ve recently started making damascus, so far just twist damascus but want to try mosaic. When forging the tiles together I seem to recall some people on youtube using stainless sheet to enclose the tiles. Most seem to use mild steel, sometimes with white out or white paint to facilitate removal of the sheet. Others just grind it off. Is there any consensus as to best technique?
