Erik, Great thing you are doing for your daughter's Class!

I like the Size, esp like the blend of the Damascus and the Ivory color Handle.

The Etch on the blade,... is the lighter area due to 1) Differential Heat Treat, or 2) Grinding or 3) just etching to look different? The etch is the only thing that I would change, I would make it all the same (darker).

Overall a great looking piece. Thanks for sharing.

RobertJ. is correct. I am fining there are two distinct camps when it comes to temper lines in damascus. either you like it or you don't.

I like it both ways - variety is nice. This is a sweet little knife - wouldn't change a thing.

Beautiful piece Erik. You have come a long ways in a short time.
Wonderfully executed damascus. I actually prefer a temper line in damascus.
Just makes the pattern a little more interesting IMO.

thanks for all the replies everyone i appreciate it. this is actually only the second mosaic blade i have done. I have been talking to several people trying to nail the technique and it is amazeing what can be done with patterning useing the tile method.
