mosaic pins and damascus bolsters

I recently saw a knife with damascus bolsters and mosaic pins. How are the pins finished off without damaging the damascus? Also is there a best way to fasten the damascus? JBweld etc.....

If the pins were through the bolsters, everything is finished together, then etched to bring out the pattern. I don't know how the bolsters were attached. Soldering them on is the best option, as you certainly can't use mosaic pins to hold anything with.

Thanks very much. I thought that they must have been soldered too. As you can tell, I know nothing about Damascus. Whichever way the bolsters were attached, it was absolutely beautiful. Thanks for your reply.
