Are these used just for wood only?
I was wondering how hard it would be to take a knife with either tubes or pins(?) and drive out what is in there already and put in new ones?
I have no idea what i am talking about even after reading the 50.00 knife shop. Example: An old Chicago cutlery large kitchen knife.Really wish I could find someone close to Frederick, MD where I could observe someone doing a variety of things.

Mosaic pins are more decorative than functional. They only provide limited shear strength. Most kitchen knives use compression rivets, which provide shear and compression strength. Mosaic pins were cool in the 1970s.
