As a warmup for a five day backpacking trip I took some scouts on a dayhike to Mosquito Lakes out of Mineral King in Sequoia NP.
Trailhead starts here in Mineral King:
		
		
	
	
		
	
Going up we went through some nice country:
		
	
The trail stops at the first Mosquito Lake. From there we went off trail to the second lake in the basin:
		
	
Then on to the fourth lake in the basin:
		
	
And finally to the fifth (and highest) lake in the basin:

And finally, almost back to the trailhead, looking at the ridge on the east side of Mineral King:
