I would suggest avoiding aliexpress and dhgate as your knife search engines.

Someone on here does have one and mentioned his thoughts on it. Might be able to use the search to find it.

This is generally good advice. There are a few reputable manufacturers that have official company stores on some of those places. I've had pretty good experiences dealing with flashlight companies like Sofirn and Jaxman over there. Random knife shopping is another story.

I bought a bunch of cheap knives from random sellers to give out as Christmas gifts because they looked cool. Some showed up with obviously counterfeit company logos that were conspicuously absent from the product page photos. Some turned out to be rebranded copies of existing knives instead of the featured product. I couldn't resist disassembling them all for a closer look. A few were pretty but had rusty, damaged, or poorly machined internals. (Curiously, most of them were on bearings with acceptable actions even when the liners were bad.) As far as the steel choice... I'm skeptical of what was printed on any of the blades, whether it was "Elmax" or "8Cr13Mov".

Something to remember is that "those sites" are huge and poorly regulated international market places. Yes, there are reputable dealers and some great company-direct stores. There are also black marketeers, counterfeiters, cloners, rip-off artists, etc. I reported the counterfeiters and got most of my money back, so that's something.
 
In general I agree- I'm skeptical that it is m390. However, its an original design, not a counterfeit.

I find these useful to identify counterfeits that often appear on Ebay et al , with essentially the same pics and and ad copy .

Knowledge is good ! You can then make an informed decision . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
