Mossberg 835 Deer Turkey Combo????

I need a hunting shotgun cuz my Winchester defender is too tacticool and I am mostly hunting in a shotgun/ muzzle loader only zone. Going to check out a used Mossberg 835 deer/ turkey combo 12 gauge today. It comes w/ the two barrels, one rifled and one smooth. What do you guys think? Good shotgun? What should I being willing to pay if condition is good? How does it differ from the 500? How does it compare to the tried and true rem 870? I know I just through a lot out there but any help would be greatly appreciated.
